A Melody of Truth

CHRISTIE, Evelyn: A Melody of Truth. Burlington Books. Burlington Readers. 841-B1

I liked this book because I identify myself with Diana, with her doubts about the studies, and also doubts about Roger, about love.

I loved reading this book because, as I said before, I feel very identified with the protagonist of the story.

This time I chose the book well. I found it easy to read, very enjoyable and entertaining. This type of story is ideal for a teenager who has doubts about studies like me.

Now, I’ll speak of story. I think that Diana has a little personality because she decides to do what their parents want her to do. I was surprised by the attitude of Diana's father when she decides to quit medicine and study music. He was a bad father when he was angry with her for deciding to study something that she liked.

To conclude, I like this book and while I was reading it, I disconnected from the routine.

A Foreigner in Britain

Ramón Ybarra and Fiona Smith: A Foreigner in Britain. Burlington Books, 841 YBA.

I liked the book because it's really interesting. It talks about the British culture and history.

I’ve really liked this book; it's very interesting because it explains things about the British culture.
At the beginning of the book, I thought that this reading would be boring because it talks about British history, and sometimes, history, in general, doesn't entertain me. But I could see I was wrong.

I’ve learnt many traditional things from Britain. Among other traditions, now I know exactly how Vikings lived in their century and how Christmas dinner is.

Finally, I recommend A foreigner in Britain to people who are really interested in history, and specifically to people who want to know about the people in Britain, their traditions, their legends, celebrations and costumes.

It's easy to read, it hasn't got a difficult vocabulary.

Now I want to visit Britain and see all the things that this book explains about this country.

THE THURSDAY THIEF

Foster, Mark: The Thursday Thief. Oxford, 1999

It is very interesting but the story is a little short, and has a lot of imagination with these robots that clean.

SURFER!

HARVEY, Paul: Surfer! Penguin, 1996

Nick, is an English boy. He likes surfing and he's very good surfer. He wants going to Australia but his father and his mother doesn't like this idea because it's expensive.
I like the book because it's very exciting, interesting and mysterious.
I like the part when his father and his mother let Nick going to Australia, but I don't like when his parents don't let Nick going to Australia.

Lejos de Frin

Datos bibliográficos: Pescetti,Luis: Lejos de Frin. 2005 ed. Santillana,Madrid,2006.Col:Alfaguara juvenil.
